Proof, judgment, and company memory
Why IPI exists.
IPI exists because managers are forced to make the same work judgment every day: was the work fair, good enough, actually done, and useful to the business? Without memory, that judgment becomes another argument.
The daily judgment companies keep remaking
The company defines the operating context and standards. The person doing the work proposes what they will accomplish for the cycle. Once the objective is accepted, they execute and submit proof. Then the real questions begin: does the proof support the objective, did the work help the business, and should it count?
When one person becomes the operating system
In his early 20s, Ibrahim Phiri ran a company of roughly 300 people on the ground across six countries spanning Africa and Japan. It reached millions of people each month. As the operation grew, he found himself spending too much of his personal social capital keeping the foundation intact: translating expectations, settling the same disputes, and holding context the company itself had failed to retain. Charisma can hold a company together. It cannot be its operating system. IPI exists to put that memory, proof, and judgment into the work itself, so progress no longer depends on the founder being everywhere at once.
Stop arguing about whether work counted
IPI gives the argument an order. The company supplies the operating context and standards. The person doing the work proposes the objective. In IPI Direct, IPI accepts a clear objective or returns it for revision; in Owner First, IPI routes it to the owner for acceptance. After execution and proof submission, IPI evaluates the evidence. The owner or designated reviewer makes the final decision, and completed-work memory preserves what the cycle taught.
Why Inherited Will exists
IPI’s operational-memory add-on, Inherited Will, exists because new employees should inherit operational scars, not just SOPs. Every completed work cycle should teach the next one: what proof passed, what proof failed, what the owner expected, what blocked the work, and why the decision happened.
The company memory problem
Companies do not only lose documents. They lose the context behind decisions. They lose why a standard changed, why a shortcut failed, why a payout happened, why proof was rejected, and why a senior employee keeps explaining the same lesson.
The company should not need its founder in every room
The next manager, employee, or agent should begin with the proof, judgment, context, and memory the company already earned. The next disputed job should not require the founder to reconstruct the last argument before the company can move.
The next disputed job should not need the founder in the room.
The company can begin with the context, accepted objective, proof, final decision, and memory it already earned instead of reconstructing the last argument.
FAQ
Why did Ibrahim Phiri build IPI?
IPI was built around the repeated management problem of deciding whether work actually counted, then preserving the proof and decision so the company does not restart the same argument.
Why is Inherited Will part of the IPI story?
Inherited Will is the memory side of the same problem. IPI helps the owner or designated reviewer decide whether work counted; Inherited Will preserves what that decision taught future employees.
